The Hadith is shirk because it intercedes with an individual having a direct relationship with God by it assuming the word of Mohammed from the Q’ran is insufficient. Therefore the Hadith is corrupting, as are the imam and as are the jihadi’s.
Here is the argument in the simplest possible terms, strengthened and made clear by direct quotes from the Quran alone, no additions, no interpretations beyond what the verses state plainly:
- Allah Himself declares the religion complete and perfected—nothing is missing.
“This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion.” (5:3)
- Allah describes the Quran as explaining all things, a full guide, and easy to follow.“And We have sent down to you the Book explaining all things, a guide, a mercy, and glad tidings to Muslims.” (16:89)“And We have certainly made the Quran easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?” (54:17)
- Allah affirms He is near and responds directly to anyone who calls Him. No one required in between.“And when My servants ask you concerning Me, indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me.” (2:186)“And your Lord says, ‘Call upon Me; I will respond to you.’” (40:60)
- If anyone insists: “The Quran alone is not enough, you need Hadith, or my explanation, or my guidance, or my permission to truly connect with Allah or understand His word,” that claim directly contradicts Allah’s own words that the religion is perfected, the Book explains all things, and He is near without barriers.
- To claim the Quran is insufficient and needs extra sources or human intermediaries is to imply Allah did not complete His favour or make His guidance clear, which the Quran says He did.
- Putting anything (Hadith collections, imams, jihadi leaders, scholars, or traditions) between you and Allah’s direct word, saying you cannot reach or understand God properly without them, is exactly what the Quran condemns as taking lords besides Allah.
“They have taken their scholars and monks as lords besides Allah, and [also] the Messiah, the son of Mary. And they were not commanded except to worship one God; there is no deity except Him. Exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him.” (9:31)
- Therefore:
- Treating Hadith as necessary and authoritative (assuming the Quran’s words through Muhammad are insufficient) intercedes between the individual and Allah → shirk (association with Allah in His exclusive right to guide and be near).
- Imams or leaders who demand you follow them as essential gatekeepers to Allah → shirk.
- Jihadis who position themselves as the required path or authority to reach God → shirk.
Hold fast to the Quran as Allah revealed it. Complete, clear, and sufficient. Seek Him alone. He guides those who turn to Him with sincerity.
